Problem is, people always die during those experiments. The Innocence doesn't react to just anyone, and it's violent when you try and force the connection. Lenalee knew the risks, and she went anyway. Not that she had much of a choice.
It's God's most valuable weapon -- doesn't really matter whose hand it's in.
She survived it though -- and her weapon became stronger. [though it's in the tone of 'not that it makes any of that okay'] But the Order's never gonna stop giving her those choices.
